Samantha Gordon is a Canadian fine artist whose work explores the relationship between traditional painting techniques, contemporary visual culture, and personal storytelling. A graduate of the Fine Art program at Fanshawe College, Gordon developed a strong academic and studio-based foundation in painting, drawing, art history, and interdisciplinary art practices.
Working primarily in acrylic and watercolor, Gordon creates paintings that move between realism and imagination, drawing inspiration from the natural world, portraiture, mythology, and the visual language of fantasy and gaming culture. Her work is defined by an emphasis on atmosphere, layered colour, and emotional resonance—inviting viewers into narratives that feel both familiar and otherworldly.
Gordon’s early exhibition history includes participation in student exhibitions through Fanshawe College, including Pinning Down Modern Art (2011) and her graduating exhibition (2012), where her work was presented within an academic gallery setting. These formative experiences helped shape her approach to both artistic practice and public presentation.
Through her studio practice, Canvas of the Coast, Gordon continues to build a body of work that honors classical fine art traditions while speaking to contemporary audiences through themes of identity, memory, and visual storytelling.
